Become a Volunteer

UT Dallas Students

New and returning UT Dallas students wanting to volunteer with the Comet Cupboard need to watch the Online Volunteer Training and complete the Volunteer Program Agreement every year. Additionally, new volunteers have to attend a 1-hour long In-Person Volunteer Training. Returning volunteers do not need to attend the in-person volunteer training. We offer in-person volunteer training sessions in September and February.

Once trained, students can use the EngageUTD platform to select any shift(s) that work best with their schedules. In addition to in-pantry distribution shifts, students can also participate in annual events, or volunteer in other ways that benefit the Comet Cupboard.

UT Dallas Staff and Faculty

We are currently able to work with UT Dallas employee groups to provide volunteer opportunities. Interested departments should submit a volunteer interest form.

Below is a display of what shift categories will look like for student volunteers on GivePulse. Shift types will begin with the semester in which they are taking place, followed by a brief description.
